The yearly symposium enables artists, educators, donors, and local charity organizations to talk about the state of arts education in the region, but also meet members of the community. This helpful program is the starting base for other similar, more organized initiatives in the future. Kenny Slaught notes that other programs are also available, including grants to community programs that use Santa Barbara’s Bowl resources and outreach projects that focus on gathering instruments to donate to students in need. In addition, college students who are pursuing the performing arts are also provided funding. The organization also sponsors a children’s program at Cottage Hospital, and many in-school and after-school programs, that are designed for areas affected by the Santa Barbara Bowl concert season. The Notes for Notes program provides free lessons and instruments to students, and a large volunteer committee is in charge of the educational outreach projects.
