Kenny Slaught Supports Preservation Of Smith Architectural Work

Architect George Washington Smith started the Californian Spanish Colonial revival style 100 years back. Smith quit Harvard to become a bond trader, and eventually relocated to California to retire. Following the praise of his designs, he began creating for the locals. Smith used authentic Spanish materials and mixed the old with the new, which resulted in a beautiful and simplistic work. He became one of Santa Barbara’s founding fathers, and inspired many artists over the years. Kenny Slaught recognizes the attention to detail needed to create such gorgeous art.
