Kenny Slaught supports Hospice of Santa Barbara’s involvement in different school levels, starting with elementary grade and up to college. Students who were affected by trauma can freely talk about their problems during the weekly support groups organized by volunteers. The groups strive to teach students how to better cope with and analyze their feelings. The coping tools aid teens in not getting involved with drugs or other self-destructive behaviors. Beside helping kids, the foundation provides courses to employees about how to effectively communicate with students when it comes to sensitive subjects. The Hospice of Santa Barbara is connected with 65 schools, with which it is open for communication 24/7.
